Senior Sales Engineer - Complex Power Systems

(Mission Critical Systems, Uninterruptible Power)

(Power Distribution Systems and Integrated systems)

We have an amazing, full-time, opportunity available for an experienced Senior Sales Engineer, who is well versed in Power Systems, Uninterruptible Power, Thermal Management, Mission Critical Systems, Power Restorations and Integrated Power Systems, etc.

You will be selling Solutions (Network Closets, Server Rooms, etc.), Services, Products, Power Distribution (Starline, Busway, etc.), Chiller Systems, Monitoring (Critical Labs, Air Temp, etc.), Generators, Switchgear Controls, etc.

Additionally, you will be developing and selling medium & low voltage power distribution solutions as well as upgrading existing customer equipment.

You would also, at times, act in a Project Manager capacity while involved in the entire project.

You will need to have obtained a BSEE or similar degree and have applicable knowledge in both Electrical and Electronic client environments while speaking to a variety of Power System scenarios with our clients ranging from Factory to C-Level staff.

You will be presenting and executing complex power solutions with a variety of end users including the C Suite.

We ask that you reside in Colorado (near Denver).

There is an approximate 20% Domestic travel associated with this role

We will provide relocation assistance to Colorado if you are currently living out of the Colorado area.

You can work from your Home Office and travel accordingly to your client base. We offer a very substantial car allowance.

This role reports to the Senior Territory Sales Director. You will not have any reports to manage but will have full Administrative Support available to you.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for developing and selling medium & low voltage power distribution solutions as well as upgrading existing customer equipment.

Solutions include distribution optimization, monitoring, and control technologies with project management.

The Sales Engineer will have access (directly or indirectly) to industry leading manufacturers of automatic transfer switches, distribution switchgear, PLC control systems, uninterruptible power system and power distribution systems from Russelectric, Vertiv Corporation and Generac, along with others for whom we are Authorized Representatives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ACTIVITIES:

  • Pursue and evaluate project opportunities to sell and/or upgrade power distribution and control systems with end-users having critical power distribution systems, usually containing multiple utility power feeds.
  • Develop such opportunities based on knowledge of power control systems, NEC standards, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety standards as well as UL standards for switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, transfer switches and motorized breakers and power distribution busway.
  • Collaborate with our Engineering and Technical Sales Associates in the creation and design of proposed solutions.
  • Prepare and present technical schemes, financial models, and project scope-of-work to end-users, third-party consultants, design-build contractors, and C-level.
  • Execute and manage projects from conception to completion which may include management and supervision of third-party participants, other company associates, and potentially factory workers.

Experience and Skills:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar Engineering degree required to communicate in engineering terms with customers/engineers.
  • Significant recent experience in applying and selling power distribution systems. Experience selling integrated systems preferred.
  • Maintain existing and sustained relationships with technical customers currently operating and maintaining critical facilities such as communication centers, power distribution facilities, data centers, and laboratories.
  • Experience in presenting and executing complex power solutions with a variety of end users including the C Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to create strategic and favorable complex solutions to a wide-ranging decision makers knowledge base.
  • The ability to prepare technical documentation for presentation through collaboration with internal technical and sales resources at DVL.
  • Ability to generate & develop sellable concept drawings in CAD (or similar) is preferred.
  • Experience working independently in developing opportunities; contacting and nurturing end-users and devising strategic plans.
  • Ability to work and travel independently to domestic customer locations.

DOMESTIC TRAVEL IN and OUTSIDE OF STATE:

  • Region is Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah & New Mexico
  • 20% travel independently to domestic customer locations
